Part I — Terms of Use
1. Official website
This website is the only official digital platform authorised by the Bhureshwar Mahadev History and Heritage Preservation Committee for publishing verified history, heritage records, and temple information relating to Bhureshwar Mahadev (Bhurishring), the lok devta of Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh. Other websites, social pages, or donation links with similar names or images may not represent the temple, the hereditary priest line, or be authorised by the temple.
2. Purpose of this website
This site exists to share authentic temple history, preserve heritage and artifacts, educate visitors and future generations, and provide official information about Bhureshwar Mahadev. Content is prepared with respect for the hereditary Dev Pujari / Polia parampara and published research.
3. Acceptable use
You may use this website for personal learning, devotion, visit planning, and non-commercial research. You must not:
- Misrepresent yourself as an official representative of the temple or Committee without written authority
- Copy, scrape, or republish substantial content for commercial use without permission
- Alter photographs, documents, or historical text and present them as official
- Upload false information, offensive material, or content that disrespects the deity, priests, or community
- Attempt to disrupt the website, its forms, or its security
4. Heritage content & copyright
Text, images, gallery items, research summaries, logos, and design elements on this website are protected unless otherwise stated. Sacred images and community artifacts remain spiritually significant; legal copyright does not diminish their religious custodianship by the temple and devotee community.
You may share short excerpts or link to our pages with clear attribution to this official website. For republication, exhibitions, media use, or academic citation of archival material, please contact us first.
5. User submissions
If you contact us or share photographs, documents, oral histories, or artifact information:
- You confirm that you have the right to share the material and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge
- You grant the Committee permission to review, archive, and—where appropriate—publish the material for heritage preservation, with credit where possible
- We may decline or remove submissions that are unverifiable, disrespectful, or legally problematic
- Physical custody of sacred objects always remains with the deity, the priest line, and the lawful owner unless a separate written agreement is made
6. Accuracy & religious context
We strive for accuracy and distinguish, where possible, between documented history, scholarly interpretation, and living oral tradition (jan shruti). The website is for information and education; it does not replace personal faith, priestly guidance, or ritual instruction at the temple.
7. Donations & third-party links
If this website links to donation facilities or external services in the future, only links published on this official site should be treated as authorised unless the Committee announces otherwise. We are not responsible for payment pages, social media fundraisers, or websites that imitate our name or images.
External links (maps, translation tools, social media) are provided for convenience. Their content and privacy practices are governed by those third parties.
8. Limitation of liability
This website is provided in good faith. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the temple, the Committee, and its volunteers are not liable for loss arising from reliance on website content, temporary unavailability, third-party links, or unauthorised sites claiming to represent Bhureshwar Mahadev.
